The Republic of Lithuania is named Lietovas Respublika in Lithuanian and Lietovas Respoblėka in Samogitian. The country is located along the southeastern shore of the Baltic Sea. Across the Baltic Sea to the west lie the countries of Sweden and Denmark. It shares borders with Latvia to the north, Belarus to the east and south, Poland to the south, and a Russian exclave (Kaliningrad Oblast) to the southwest.
